In addition to a lot of those mentioned, Espresso Yeti has a lot of coffee flavor in it.

Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout. It's like dark coffee, but with booze and stout flavor.

I have had most of what people are saying and no one has mentioned Laurelwood's Portland Roasting Espresso Stout. Hands down what you are looking for.

Not distro'd in Cali, but another PNW beer that should give you what you're looking for is Hopworks 7 Grain Stout. It has Stumptown coffee in it I believe. Should be easy to trade for if you were serious.

To me it always tastes like biting into really bitter roasted coffee beans.

Have to agree, anything with portola coffee has seemed to be very coffee forward.

I have the pleasure of being from SD and having coffee from Ryan Bros, the coffee used for Speedway. It's hard to distinguish one from the other.

The most coffee forward stout I have had to date was a Thirsty Dog Coffee Stout from a cask. Tasted like straight black Folgers coffee.

I've had all but 10 of the beers mentioned in this thread thus far, so with that disclaimer, I'll vote for Mother's Winter Grind as being the most coffee dominated beer I've tasted.

I am definitely affected by the caffeine in coffee stouts. But I am pretty sensitive to caffeine, and have avoided it for awhile, and let me tell you after drinking a BCBCS the other night I could not sleep. And when I did I was super restless.
When I was out West I was at a small local brewery and I ordered a pretty mild coffee stout. 5% nothing huge. But the brewer made a point to come up to me and tell me that there is a worth-mentioning amount of caffeine in it. And the coffee flavor wasn't all that either.
So in my opinion, if it is a coffee stout actually made with coffee then yes there is caffeine in it.
