So I started a thread about my horrible first homebrew a few weeks ago, and the second one has been in primary for 12 days now. I just check OG and it is tasting just fine, no horrible butterscotch flavor here!!

But I have two questions, I didn't use wirlfloc this time around and my beer is really hazy. I know cold crashing can clear this up, but my garage I believe is a bit too cold right now, around 25 degrees. Should I just skip cold crashing (just looking for your opinions), or will the beer clear up a bit in the bottle when I refrigerate it.

In terms of dry hopping, I have .5 oz of Horizon right now. Should I just get my lazy ass to the store to and grab some cascade or centennial... or has anyone used Horizon? I know it is more of a bittering hop, so just wondering.

Lastly, should I rack to secondary for both cold crashing and/or dry hopping, or can it stay in primary? Thanks all.

Stuff will precipitate and/or fall out of suspension in the bottle, but that stuff will still be in your bottle. So IMO it's far better to cold crash (if necessary) before pakaging.

Horizon can be used for flavor/aroma. Just depends on what you want your beer to taste/smell like.

Either way works, and both have their adherents. I avoid secondary except when more or less necessary due to adding special ingredients. Dry hops can go either way.

    What size batch? Beer style?
.5 oz isnt alot i usually dry hop apa and ipa with at least 2oz in 5 gallons. I have a iipa with 5oz dry hop in 3 gallons. But it does help to cold crash

Yes, get your lazy ass to the store and get some hops. 1/2 oz won't do diddley.

The beer will probably clear on its own over the course of the next week or so. Cold crashing beer would speed this up, but, yeah, 25F is too cold.
