I had tried this at Winterfest, and actually didnt think it was too bad. Bought a quart can(bonus points for that) the other day for 3.59. Kind of a novelty in a can that size, but i found it to be a decent IPA. I also think John Henry is pretty good, though maybe not quite as much so now that they went to a 4pk, but kept the price the same .

Good to see Cold Spring putting out some decent beers of their own.

A cold spring rep was in my office a couple months back. They make/bottle/can lots of things in that facility (juices, energy drinks, etc..) and he said they were stepping up the brewing side of things. I can't remember if he said they were hiring another brewer or a new one or something like that. Basically he said they were going to start making more of their 'own'. I know they were building something across the street from the original plant that had something to do with brewing. Sorry if that's stupid cryptic lol.

One of the guys from Town Hall is going to be brewing at the new Cold Springs Brewing Facility. They are going to be starting their own brand, a craft line up of beer.

Yeah, I picked up a 4 pack of John Henry after trying it at Winterfest as well, it is a pretty good beer for the price. The Cran Razz was pretty good as well, at least on a nice hot day it would be good!!

Cold Spring does have their new craft brewery 3rd Street Brewhouse, they were also at Winterfest. They had a black ale and a couple others that werent bad.

The Cold Spring IPA actually comes out of the Cold Spring Brewery though. They do a fine job w/ 21st Am. and many others, so not suprising they can brew decent beer. It will takes years to get past the days of the Gluek/Stite stigma though.

As long as I remember Cold Spring brewery always seems to be starting a craft line up of beer. IMO, they have never been serious about selling craft beer and at times the beers they have brewed are untrustworthy.

Spent a fair amount of time talking to Horace from 3rd street over the last month, Their new 15 million dollar facility is looking very impressive, I would say they are definitely getting serious about craft beer.

No Cold Spring brew will ever rival the old Jermiah James label of years ago.....seriously the worst craft brew ever made...

And their old Cold Spring was the worst adjunct lager ever made, so that's impressive. At $5 a case of longnecks (late 80s, early 90s), I had a few, though.

Grabbed another can today at Princetons. Tough to go wrong for 2.99. Really pretty drinkable for a Cold Spring product-nothing offensive, decent hop presence. ..... and the can is awesome.

Saw them at Blue Max for $2.99. Crazy to see a can of beer that large.

I'm drinking one right now. I was actually going to post something about it and, wow, threads already here haha. $2.99 at Princetons. Not a bad beer at all. I went to Rock Bottom yesterday and they have a new brewer, nice guy, can't remember his name. Seems Bob (previous RB brewer of Sherlocks Home and Granite City fame) took a job with Third Street. Horace, Bob, TH brewer, 15 million dollar brewhouse. I think it's safe to say they are serious about their new brand.

I remember when, at times, we could buy some of Cold Spring's brands (all the same beer, different label) 3 cases for $10.00. Their best beer during those times, however, was Kegal Brau- an honestly good beer!
