I'm noticing that most BA's that graduated in my era are already in bed.....Think I'll have another beer and reminisce a bit longer . I have no where to be until Monday at 8 a.m....

    1) Mid-80's
    2) New Mexico Tech (Astrophysics program)
    3) Coors Extra Gold, with the occasional Herman Joseph's or Moosehead sixer if we wanted to class things up. (Bass and Fuller's were very tasty, but only if someone else was buying. Imports were expensive.)

    College in the late 80's
Treating ourselves was John Courage, Bass (when it was really English), Moosehead and Lowenbrau
I also remember a couple of guys running up to Canada a couple times a year for a Molson that was about 10%

    Later moved onto Pete's Wicked.

Another Husky on BA! I graduated in 2003.

NM Tech! Damn. Smartest guy on BA right here ^^^^

I assume you drove to Albuquerque when you wanted to have fun. Or raging keg parties in the mountains? Drop acid and break into the VLA?

Started off at University of Arizona in 1999. Coronas got drank a lot. Lots of booze too. Blackout drunkenness was common. I was broke as shit so I used to show up to keg parties late (when the keg was unattended), grab a cub and just keep refilling. I eventually realized people assumed it was my keg since I was hovering over it and that they were willing to pay me $5 for a cup and a fill of beer. I did that quite a bit.

A friend of mine worked at a beer store on 4th (Tucson's little strip) and he introduced me to Fat Tire, so I started to drink that a lot. Also drank a lot of that macro nut brown, forget the name.

Transferred to a Northeastern in Boston. Discovered Newcastle and fell in love. Drank a ton of that. Drank a lot of Stella too cuz it was pretty hip in Boston in the early 2000s. Also drank a ton of Hennessy and Courvoisier, cuz all the rappers were doing it, haha. I'm pretty sure at that time I had a Pete's Wicked Ale every now and then, Magic Hat stuff, and definitely drank more and more Sam Adams stuff as I approached graduation.

One memory I have of those years is going to a bar in Allston "that had, like, 100 beers on tap," anyone know what that place would be?

I just started at colorado state, 23, and my first purchase was (luckily) Evil Twin Double Barrel Jesus.

    So that is the standard.

That's a great thing to say, but I wouldn't even claim to be the smartest guy in this thread. I swapped engineering for graphic design about 20 years ago, and never looked back.

I didn't have a car in my NM Tech years, so I stayed on campus and portioned my weeks into 6 days of studying and 1 day of beering. The best fun I had was working at KTEK, the campus radio station, and helping host dances where Tech girls actually showed up.

Good times, tho. I'm proud of my Tech days.

There are girls at Tech?

I worked at U of A's college radio station. Definitely some good memories from that.

Didn't get to purchase my first (and hopefully not my last) Double Barrel Jesus until two weeks ago, thinking your college beer drinking will be a lot better than mine!

Wazzu - 1996 - 2000. A lot of Busch light. When we would throw a party, we'd cross the border and pick up kegs of lucky lager for $35. Good times.

Used to buy 'em 3 for $1. Not as a college student, but a night shift factory worker in the mid-'80s. We got out of work at 12:45 am, I got to the bar 5 minutes later, threw a 5'er on the bar and ordered 9 OV's and got $2 change - last call was 1 am. Whew...

Iron City in quarter kegs (7.75 gals) - $8.00. You could always find 8 guys to pitch in a buck apiece to buy a quarter of Iron. Half kegs (15.5 gals) - $16.00. College 1970-1974. The beer we all loved, but it was hard to find in southwestern Pennsylvania was Gennie Cream Ale.

Late 80's early 90's at Butler. The beer of choice in the dorm was Milwaukee's Best.

Late 70s early 80s. Beer of choice was whatever was cheapest. No other criteria entered into it.

Looking back, though, I have a nostalgia for Picketts, from Dubuque, Iowa. Any other old timers remember that one?

    Where: Guess.
When: A helluva long time ago.
What: I graduated high school at 16, so I wasn't even old enough to drink at all until my junior year at tOSU. Then it was pretty much 3.2 Stroh's.

And even back then I wouldn't drink free Budweiser.

UMass mid 90's. Bush Light or Miller High Life. When someone got extra cash from parents or campus job we'd splurge on Sam. Two of the greatest inventions during the 90's related to beer. The 30 pack and Ice beer. Couldn't go wrong with 6 more beer or high ABV. I remember I couldn't believe they had beer that was 5.9%!
