Will be in College Station on business for a couple days next week. I won't have a whole lot of free time so I want to mek the most of any I have. Staying on Campus and Google tells me that "Western Beverage" is a short walk from my room. Is that place worth even looking for a decent selection? Specs is about 5 miles away, short drive. Is that branch decently stocked? Are there any other places, or better spots I should try? (for bottles to carry back home)

    Thanks

I like Harvey Washbangers. Although, I'm not the most objective source since they're a customer of ours.

Does Washbangers sell bottles/bombers to go? The website makes it out to be a restaurant/bar (and laundromat).

They have growlers to go, not sure about bottles. But I do recall seeing JK bombers in the location.

There is a specs very close to that location as well that you could walk to that has a great selection. The HEB (grocery store) next to Harvey's also has a very good beer selection.

I'll be staying at the Comfort Suites on E University. The map shows Specs to be 5+ miles away. Not sure I want to walk that far being it is my first visit to the city, but I will have a car, so driving is fine. I'd just rather maximize my stops at the places with the better selection.....Yeh, hoping to find some JK to bring home.

There is a specs on Harvey by Harvey Washbangers, if this is the one you are looking at. If so I would highly recommend checking that place out as I remember seeing a lot of Jester King in there. The HEB in that area will also have a good bottle selection.

You can take bottles to go as well. I 2nd the Specs on Harvey and the HEB next to Washbangers as well. You're in luck as bottles tend to sit around longer in College Station as opposed to Houston. :stuck_out_tongue:

Spec's should also have a good selection of karbach.

It's been a few years, but the Comfort Suites is a ways down University from the campus. You'll be driving quite a bit...

There seems to be more than one Specs in College Station. Any opinions which has larger/ better selection?
