It's good for a bomber, but it averages out to the equivalent of a $16 six pack. You can get a Six pack of Lagunitas Maximus for $8.99, nearly half as cheap.

The police are watching the DE/PA border like crazy lately for people doing this.

Labatt's Blue was a college staple - cheap, yet imported for that cosmopolitan effect.

The best advice would be to work hard, do your best, and obtain a well-paying job that affords you the opportunity to buy quality beer. College is one season of your life...it gets better.

Hop Stoopid is cheap for a bomber, but it's still about $15/six pack. "Bomber" and "budget" should never be mentioned in the same sentence, they are all a terrible value.

Another vote for sierra nevada here.

Are you in Eastern PA? What stores do you know that sell stuff discounted. I'm only over in PA occasionally, but I don't mind picking up a case for $17!

Sorry, but I do not approve. You drink cheap shit while you are in college; that's the way the world works. You finish school and get a decent-paying job. Then you get to enjoy the good stuff. You got to put in your time, man. It sucks, but it's almost over.

I drank 'Gansett Lager a lot while I was in school a few years ago. It was that or PBR and on occasion Miller High Life.

Nonsense. College students of centuries past drank better beer than BMC. I'd say it's your experience (and mine, sadly) of drinking yellow fizzy corn water that is the abnormality when looking at the consumption of beer by college students across history.

Fair enough, but I would venture to guess that those better beers of yesteryear were the cheap beers. It's simply an unfortunate circumstance that the cheap beer of our college days was fizzy, yellow macro swill.

I think he said he was a grad student - time to start getting into debt like a real American - buy the quality beer and lots of it.

I always liked Miller High Life for some reason. But yeah Yuengling is solid. I'd even drink that now and be ok with myself.

Yuengling Black and Tan is good if you feel the need to drink large volumes of brew.

If you're not playing drinking games or chugging and whatnot, I bet you can find a great selection of higher gravity (7% +) beers in the $35-$40/case range. Probably about $7/night if you drink 4 beers, which should do the job normally.

Also, try to get a couple of your buddies into good beer. This will allow you to try more beers, since you won't have to finish whole cases yourself.
