I will be stuck here for 2 weeks for work beginning Wednesday. I realize that it's not THAT far outside of STL but is there ANYTHING (beer related obviously) in or nearby this town that's worth a shit or should I just count whatever blessings I have left and drive across the river??
I'm in STL and follow Global Tap on Twitter. Seems like they have good things going on. Outside of that, my suggestion is to go to Randall's in Fairview Heights and see what you can get, or see if the metro runs into STL from there.
Johnny's side bar usually has two scratch brewing beers on tap, pretty much the only place you can find their beer outside of the brewery and special events. You can take a short 10 minute drive to edwardsville They have a global brewhouse, place called bigelos bistro which always has great beers on tap and an awesome burger and Cleveland Heath which is one of the better places to eat in the metro area IMO, they also have craft beer
If you want to drink some beers, I'll be back from the gulf on the 7th. I live about 20 minutes north of collinsville
