I always see posts about Denver tastings and although that would be fun, but I would rather stay here and do it. Are they are any tasting groups in C/S? If not, would anyone be down to do one? I know I get tired of trying to put back 750's by myself and I love to share. Thoughts?

There have been a few but they're definitely few/far between. There are a few other guys that are pretty active from the Springs on here, may be worth shooting a direct mail to them to see if there's interest.

As much as I enjoy catching up with fellow beer geeks/connoisseurs, I'm really hit or miss and mostly miss on the organized stuff as it doesn't work with wife/kids/work/hectic personal life.

Yeah, I jump in on some of the Denver tastings from time to time and have a couple of friends outside BA that I drink beer with but haven't connected with too many Colorado Springs BA's. I, like scray24 am a bit hit or miss with the wife and kids but I love to host tastings at my place (Rockrimmon area) after 8pm when the kiddos are down. I have a stash of BA Barleywine that I am definitely going to need help drinking

Maybe we should shoot for a Mid-November date and start getting the word out.

Even if we don't get a ton of people, small is fine, too just to hang out, meet new people and drink some good brews. I live over by Cottonwood Park and would host a tasting as well. I don't know anyone else on BA that is local but my brew partner and I would be down. Depending on the size, I have a friend who is big into craft beer and wants to get into the scene as well.

What about doing it on a Saturday and starting mid afternoon-ish so we aren't drinking into the wee hours of the morning? Just a thought, though I am down for however it happens.

I have quite a bit of stuff I am willing to share. I have some Bruery sours and a bunch of stuff from Cigar City coming this week as well. Mid-November works fine with me.

I'd be up for this, those are one of my fav's and I'd like to think I've got a few unique ones that we could share...

My work schedule is all over the place but I would be interested as well. Got a bunch of random east coast stuff I've got stashed. I also happen to live near Cottonwood.

Right on! So far, 4 BAs is better than none.

I'd be up for this. I have too much beer in the cellar and I need some help drinking it. I don't really have an adequate place to hold a tasting, but I could bring some extra beer to make up for that.

I'm in. Also we are planning on having a gueuze tasting in Febuary as a pre warning.

Up to 6 BAs now. So do we want to make it a 1 style tasting or just bring whatever and just have a good time?

What is everyone thinking? Should we do the 10th or the 17th?

    I vote for the 10th.

My vote is for BA Barleywine (though it is always good to have one or two sours as palate cleansers). I would be happy to bring some or all of the following:

    King Henry
    Blighs
    BA Ruffian 2012
Mother of All Storms 2011 (?)
    §ucaba
    Hangar 24 Hammerhead
    Genesis 15:15

I have been sitting on these for a while and really just need some help taking them all down so I am more than happy to bring them all.

I have zero barleywines to bring, but I do have sours I can offer. My wife has no problem having our house host it, she will even prepare some food/munchies.

Quirkzoo: I know you said you would offer your house. Not trying to step on anyone's feet. I have no probelm hosting as well. You let me know what you want since you offered first.

No problem. If we want to have it earlier in the day (before 8pm) it is probably better not to have it at my house. If I am hosting my wifes prefers festivities to start after 8pm so that the kiddos are down.

I know for sure I'll have the 17th off because I'm using some vacation time at work, but I can't say for sure about the 10th. My work schedule is random, so I wouldn't know until my schedule comes out on the 7th.

I'm up for any style, but sours are my favorite. Should we tell each other what we're going to bring so we don't have multiples of certain beers?

Yeah, once we are more set on style I can setup a google doc so that folks can track what they are bringing.

It might not be a bad idea to do multiple styles so we don't get burned out on one style. I did a pretty big sour tasting a few months ago, and by the end of it, a lot of things started tasting really similar. Just an idea.

I have stouts and sours, a few saisons from CCB. We could always even just get some regular IPAs to throw in the mix to cleanse the palate. I am down for just about anything

I think I could swing the 17th. I got some stouts, sours, barleywines as well.

Here's a list of things I could bring that are usually a bit difficult to find in Colorado. How many bottles were we thinking of each bringing? 2 or 3?

    3 Fonteinen - Straffe Winter
The Bruery - Melange 3, Oude Tart, Sans Pagaie, Otiose
    Cigar City - Sea Bass
Cisco - Lady of the Woods
    Deschutes - The Dissident 2012
Fantome - BBB Dark White, La Dalmatienne, Brise Bon Bons, Pissenlit
    Flossmoor - Hi-Fi Rye
Goose Island - Juliet, Lolita, Night Stalker
    Jester King - Boxer's Revenge
    Rivertown - Lambic
Rodenbach - Caractere Rouge, Vintage 2007
Stillwater - Cellar Door, Autumnal, Débutante, Existent, of Love & Regret, Premium, Stateside Saison
Stillwater/Mikkeller Two Gypsies - Our Side
    Sweetwater - 15
Three Floyds - Dreadnaught, Munsterfest, Alpha King, Gumballhead
    Tilquin - Gueuze 2010-2011
Upland - Strawberry Lambic, Blueberry Lambic, Kiwi Lambic, Gilgamesh
    Upright - Six, Seven
Voodoo - Big Black Voodoo Daddy
    Weyerbacher - Risirva, Rapture

Maybe you guys could help me choose, since I'm not sure what beers you have or haven't tried.
