That should count since crowlers only have a shelf life of 3 months. :stuck_out_tongue:
I bet someone has one from a year ago tucked away and blissfully unaware that he now has an expensive can of bourbon barrel aged teriyaki sauce.

My experience from long ago. Long before Crowlers:

I would have never guessed that this would not be a cellarable brew but was it ever bottled or canned by OB? That would explain it.

wasn't it the pure guava petite sour? It cleared up right about the time the bitching about it was at its most intense.

The original Guava and Blackberry Petite Sour both had butyric acid, which many perceive as vomit but comes off more like a stinky cheese to me. Guava was worse, Blackberry was subtle but still there. I had a Blackberry about 4 months ago and unfortunately it's still cheesy, not sure if it will ever go away. My vote for CS whale is WWBY, which was kind of a mess when it first came out and probably the most underwhelming of the series, but when I tried it at Violet day and a rainbow tasting about 6 months ago, it was incredible! Oh, and the original dry hopped L'Brett D'or, but that's a whole 'nother story...

I'll get down to my cellar and pull another one next break and let ya know. I pulled one for DLD to share but it was cold and rainy the whole damn day. Gave it to the guy who saved us a parking spot since he pulled from his cellar, too, to share.

Most of the very early CS items had butyric acid going on. While in bottles that will change, their early push included taps at Star Bar, Euclid, and Freshcraft. Those couldn't exactly "clean up" and I feel releasing them in that state did them more harm than good. It took me a long time to trust them and I know I'm not alone. I think Orange is probably the first draft one I had that was legitimately really good.

My favorite of the ROYGBIV series was yellow. I've never had anything like it before or since. I know some folks that opened one recently and I guess it's still good, but totally different from the indian-curry accented release version. If they were to ever re-release an old beer, I'd vote for that one.

Some did, some didn't. Last two I've opened still were dumpster bombs.

So after embarrassing myself a few times I now turn to you for advice. I've been lucky in trading for IPAs but when it comes to whales I have had zero success. What are some of the whales that we get here in Colorado maybe they're not made here but they're distributed to us here in Denver. I know Casey is up there and crooked stave but what else?

    Thanks

You know you're probably correct. I'm by no means trying to complain here we are spoiled with our distribution and selection of local craft beers. I guess I was wondering what is the Colorado version of morning delight, Dark Lord, and kbbs.

You just named beers from the middle of nowhere Iowa and Munster Indiana. Forget about "waelz bro" and be happy you live somewhere 1,000 times better.
