I'm shacked up here for a few days and am looking for any insight regarding where I could land a few bottles to mule home. I've looked at the list, which includes names like Patricia's, Arena Liquors, and HyVee, but Arena seems to have disappeared from Google's places listing.

Are there any other places worth seeking out? Of the ones listed, are any a sure hit?

Also, are the restaurants in the list (Shakespeare's Pizza, Flat Branch, Sycamore) worth hitting?

    Thanks!

I was a student there in the 90's and loved going over to Shakespeares for a slice and a pint of Double Diamond. It's worth checking out.

I've only heard good things about Sycamore, although I haven't been there.

Arena is still there at the corner of Green Meadows and Providence. It's actually a liquor store/C-store/gas station. Very good selection, but be wary of IPAs sitting out at room temp in the light. Check the date codes, if you know how to decipher them.

Shakes is good pizza, with some craft beer. Broadway Brewing is worth hitting for beer and food. As mentioned by spartan, Sycamore is a must stop for both beer and food, as is 44 Stone Public House (which is out south, closer to Arena.)

Oh, and one more downtown - Uprise Bakery (same building as Ragtag Theater). Usually good craft beer selections on tap and great sandwiches.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Arena and HyVee came through with some nice bottles. Found some items I definitely didn't expect to spot in central MO. Haven't ventured to any restaurants from above, but I'm hoping to sneak to Sycamore for a bite before I go.
