I’m going to be in Columbia, SC and Savannah for a few days each next week. Any good brewery/beer bar recommendations? Thanks as always for the help.
Columbia breweries: Columbia Craft near USC campus, Savage Craft Ale Works on Center Street just off Meeting Street West Columbia, Bierkeller (German styles and food) Columbia beer bars: Craft & Draft on Devine Street, WECO bottle and beer garden on Meeting Street in West Columbia
Loved the beer and food at Bierkeller yesterday before the Adam Sandler show. Schwarzbier was my favorite of the three brews i had, that was world class IMHO. The Pilsner and Altbier were nicely done too. I can see why you go there repeatedly! Cheers! Tom
Can't go wrong with Bierkeller if you like German and Czech styles. I especially enjoyed their Polotmotvy and Kellerbier.
Savannah breweries I’d hit Two Tides, Hop Atomica, beer bars Crystal Beer Parlor and White Whale is basically in Forsyth Park and you can get to go beers.
I'll be visiting Savannah for a long weekend next month and I will just echo these are the 4 beer stops I'm hoping to make. There are other breweries, but these seem to be the ones to get to.
In Savannah, Two Tides stands head and shoulders above the fray although Service Brewing is worth a stop if you are doing touristy things down by the river. Decent beer, a great space and a killer BBQ food truck on most Saturdays. If you find yourself on the south side of town, Ben’s Neighborhood Grill always has a great tap list and brings in hard to find stuff from all over the country. Best bottle shop in town is Habersham Beverage. Enjoy!
