Howdy GA BA's. I did some poking around in this forum and looked through places, but wanted to get some first hand, up to date info if possible.

I'll be flying into Atlanta late on Friday night and driving straight down to Columbus. We'll be driving to Auburn on Saturday for the football game, but I should have some time to hit a shop or two Saturday morning. It looks like Columbus Beverage Superstore and Boos are my best bets. I'll mainly be looking for Founders Breakfast Stout, Allagash, and maybe some Wake n Bake. I'd also love suggestions from you guys. Are there any other stores I should be aware of? Any weird restrictions on hours of sale or anything in GA?

I'll also have some time on Sunday to hit a bar or shop on our way back to the airport. Anything along that route worth stopping for? It looks like shops are open for business on Sunday's.

I'd also love to meet up with any of you guys who might be in the area or going to the Texas A&M / Auburn game this weekend. I've got room in my bag to pack bottles.

    Cheers!

I'll be out of town, or I'd offer to have a beer or two with ya.

Down that way, it's a craft beer shit hole.

You'll need to head to atleast atlanta for some goods. That has you heading in the opposite direction, but only by roughly 20 minutes.

If you are leaving the airport, head down Camp Creek Pkwy, and head to the World of Beverage. It's in a really busy spot, and once you get there, you'll realize why craft beer isn't popular there.. I'll leave it at that.

However, they do have some decent stuff, and they move it so slow, if you get a stout, I promise it'll probably be aged. I've bought plenty of 2010 Yeti there in the past that was great.

Wake n Bake isnt out yet, so you won't find any.

Hop City in midtown ATL is a great bottle shop. Check that out.

Yeah, I'm making out worse than it is, but I haven't had much luck anywhere too far from Metro ATL.

Fly in, hit the sweetwater pub in the airport on the way out. Head down Camp Creek, and get some brews to take to the game.. I'd suggest trying out the Red Brick Vanilla Gorilla Porter.. Smoked oatmeal porter w/ Vanilla. It's not half bad and it's a yearly release that just hit. Their 17th Anniversary is a Brown Ale Bourbon Barrel Aged.

There's a decent selection of some stuff, check the dates on the hoppy ones though.

If you want to head into ATL, which I'd suggest if you want beer.. To buy it, go to Greens, or HopCity. If you want to drink and eat.. 5 Seasons, The Porter.... Closer out of town you have Brickstore Pub as well.

If you don't want to go to ATL, then Campcreek is the last real spot I can think of this way.. Once on 85 South, you will have the chance to exit off at the Hwy 74, Peachtree City/Fairburn exit. Exit, go left, and follow 74 down for 1 mile maybe from the interstate. World of Beverages. They have a decent craft selection, and carry most of what is readily available in the state for the most part. It's on your way south, and only a small drive off the interstate.

Once south of there.. Drink what ya brought.. Might have luck in Auburn, but I doubt it.

We didn't have a chance to hit any bars in the Atlanta area. We just didn't have enough time, and chose to sleep in a bit yesterday morning. We had a good time, maybe too good of a time, in Auburn after the game

I did stop into Columbus Beverage Superstore on Saturday morning. I was pleasantly surprised to find some FBS, Two Hearted (about five weeks old, but I'm not complaining), ST Pumpking, Allagash Curiex and Confluence, and some BA BORIS (we got plenty in CO, but I had run out at and they were selling it for $12, which was about $6 cheaper than here in CO).

Nothing spectacular, but all things we don't get in CO. I'd recommend the place if you're in the area. Nice people running it too.
