Traveling to Columbus form PA, the first weekend in October for the OSU game. Suggestions for stops on the trip out? Will be traveling on Friday. Is Hoof Hearted Open? Open to meet for potential trades of Tired Hands Vanilla Milk Shake.
Brewery stops I'd recommend are Hoof Hearted and Wolfs Ridge. Hoof in Marengo is production brewery and isn't open other then for can releases, you need to look up Hoof Hearted Kitchen (not far from campus). Store stops near campus would be weilands, and the savor stores (growl and market).
Do yourself a favor and visit Hot Chicken Takeover in the North Market... An absolutely fantastic meal. There's a pretty good bottle shop in North Market as well but I forgot the name of it. Cheers!
Hot chicken takeover is a must. Bottle shops near campus include Weiland's, Savor growl, and Palmer's Beverage. Hoof has a release on 10/7, but would probably conflict with the game for you.
Wolf's Ridge is a good one, as is Land-Grant, IMO. Honestly, Id say Wolf's Ridge is almost more great for their breakfast as they are for their beer. Another great stop would be Four String. Their altbier is pretty awesome (Alternator).
As others have said, Wolf's Ridge is a must. They are having their anny party on 9/30, so there might be some crazy drafts leftover from that.
Another good stop could be Brew Dog. I havent had their beer yet but Ive heard good things and unless you go to Scotland, I dont think there anywhere else in America where you can try their beer. My friends and I are doing having a bar hopping day next Saturday and Brew Dog is on the list, so Im interested in trying their beers.
I went to Columbus in January and there was a grocery store (Andersons??? help me out guys) and I found some gems there.
