    Morning All,

I'll be attending a wedding in Columbus in a few weeks and have the following day to myself. If the weather holds I'll likely walk the three miles from my hotel to Columbus Brewing for a glass of Bodhi to start my afternoon. I've read many of the place reviews in the area, but am hoping locals or those with knowledge would help put an itinerary together for me. I'd like to stay in the Brewery District, have a few beers, and grab some lunch.

    After my Bodhi, I should.......?

    Thanks everyone!
    B

FYI, CBC doesn't open on Saturdays until 5pm, if memory serves.

    ...and closed on Sundays.

A couple blocks from CBC is Worldof Beer. Bodhi shows up on their taps periodically so you can try there if CBC is closed. CBC fresh hop is on now. They also have mix-6 takeout which is expensive but might be worth if you find stuff you don't have access to. The Kroger grocery store right next to CBC has a decent beer selection, including CBC IPA. They actually have a bar there with a few taps....often a CBC selection.

Also potential walkable downtown beer spots are Dirty Franks, Little Palace, Elevator Brewery, and Tip Top. Milestone 229, also downtown, I believe shares owners with CBC so there's always CBC on tap there (food is great btw).

Or jump on a COTA bus up high and hit up Bodegas or Bobs bar (quite a bit north tho), which are the two best beer selections in town.

Old town east....just east of downtown has a couple gems, yellow brick pizza and The Tavern, both typically solid taps (10-15ish)

    Good luck!

It's a hike (or a $15-20 cab ride) but Bob's is where it's at. Unbeknownst to me when I bought my house, but I'm within stumbling distance when the weather is nice.

If you do make it this far North before the wedding you can hit up Savor, Weilands and/or Palmer beverage to stock your hotel fridge with the good stuff for the after party.

Barleys in the short north is solid and north market is right behind it where barrel and bottle is. I believe they sell growlers and have a small selection of craft brews.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. Is Head Hunter available typically near campus (or in town)?

Just saw it at multiple beer spots today (Savor, Weilands, Blacklick)....and plenty. Columbus must've just got a batch in. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding some.

And Wielands now has a growler fill station (5-6 taps) and CBC Bodhi and Fresh Hop were on.

Very happy to hear this! Are any of these locations walkable from Hyatt Place OSU (795 Yard St.)?

Well my phone map says its 1.3 miles to Grandview Carryout....which should have some HH (call ahead and the guy will hold some if you like). Hit up the little Main Street area, just to the south, in Grandview on your way back. Barleys brewery smokehouse should be walking/stumbling distance for you too. The North Market is about the same distance to the east...barrel and bottle is there...plus barleys original brew house is across the parking lot. From barleys head north to Short north, which is packed with shops and craft beer spots. Cheers!

Walking to either Barley's would be a hairy walk--not super pedestrian friendly. That Hyatt is in a weird spot. Matt the Miller's usually has a good tap selection--according to Untappd, they have Bodhi on right now, and it's close to Grandview Carryout if you're going there anyways.
