I guess I'd say Smithwicks or Yuengling Lager. Yuengling because I've probably had more of that over the years than any other beer, and Smithwicks because it was the first "good" beer that I enjoyed, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Yuengling is available at every single bar where I live, and at just about any restaurant that serves alcohol. It's an easy choice.

Old Rasputin. It was my bridge into craft beer. It got me hooked. I always keep a few few bottles around just in case. Takes me to a better place.

Easily, a comfort beer for me is-
Left Hand Milk Stout, on Nitro.
Some of the Winter Warmers are really nice as well.

Not any one particular beer, but rather something that I have had quite often, enjoy greatly and can enjoy without being distracted by the new beer experience. While not limited to them, Two Hearted, Pilsner Urquell, Okocim Porter, Vienna Lager (Devil's Backbone), Old Rasputin and Weinhenstephaner Hefe are examples of "going to my happy place" beers.

Just put me out of my misery if I ever use the term "comfort beer". I would want my 22 year old self to look at what I've become and beat the shit out of me.

If its available, Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel, because its probably my favorite beer...if not, I'll go nostalgic & pick up some Yuengling Black & Tan or Lager.

for me it depends on the season:
on a warm summer day its sierra nevada pale ale, crisp cool citrusy and refreshing
in the heart of a cold dark winter i like a victory V12 to lull me into hibernation

Troegs HopBack Amber hands down. It was the first beer that I successfully cloned about 4 years ago. If only it came in pounders. I also love Long Trail ale.

I think every beer I have ever consumed was comforting in some way.
