Comic con

Stone has a tap room in Petco Park. Neighborhood has 2 for 1 happy hour with all bad ass SD taps (Food is also awesome there). Money Paw always has a great tap list (Also great food). Ballast Point is in Little Italy, a short trolley ride away. I'm sure I'm missing some, but that's what we stick to every year.

first time not actually hitting the Con in 32 years. will be down there on Sunday for a wrap party though.

 

Damn, haven't met few who have been going to the Con longer than myself. This will be my 21st consecutive year.

 

ya, grew up in the industry so I was always there. 21 years? damn dude, thats impressive.

 

'91/92 was when I started going. Was much easier living a few exits away from DT SD, then flying in from 600 miles away now. Stoked!

 

This will be around 30 years straight for me either working the Con, or an event associated with it.

 

But yay for Comic Con.

 

I was thinking about leaving a little early from LA, getting to SD around noon and stopping by maybe Modern Times and Ballast Point Little Italy before I got my badge. Anything good on tap, or is there somewhere else I should drop by first that has anything good flowing right now? That just seems like the most direct route for me to take to get from the airbnb that I am staying at down to the convention center

 

Depends on the day, but R&D day is thursday for the ballast point locations.

Taco Tuesday at Modern Times, so they'll have the usual cask of Monsters Park with tequila soaked tortillas and deep fried yellowtail spiced with cumin.

 

Toolbox isn't open on Wednesdays.

 

30th year for me, missed it one year. Been kinda over it for a few years now, it's just work seeing clients and avoiding sweaty people bumping into me. I am stoked seeing my son fully into the old school stuff though. One year it was $50 wall hangers for him, then $100, this year he's jumped up to $300 books.
He's only 14 and it'll be his 14th con.
This is the first year for me where I'm short on guest passes.....I think I might be fishing off the fishing pier on the embarcadero opening a few bottles while my son's buddy uses my pass.
