Chances that BCBW sits around till may when I'm up there? I love that beer. I would def but a case if the wife wouldn't kill me.

Also check out Coleman's Public House in Mt. Pleasant. Good food and good craft beer.

Will be visiting family in May. Didn't see closed for business mentioned - worth trying?

I agree with the comments on Edmunds Oast- was major disappointed by that place. Holy City had great stuff on tap, esp the HG - just can't drink too much due to the brewer law. The Bay Street Biergarten was good too, $10 for a litter of Wehienstaphaner, nice outside area. Don't forget Frothy Beard - he has some good beer too.

If you're looking for something more laid back/casual, you can check out Smoky Oak Taproom (40+ taps) or Bohemian Bull (30+) on James Island (on the way to Folly Beach). Both have decent food that won't break the bank and the beer selection is decent.

They're definitely targeting rich foodies. I think their tap selection is fantastic, though.

Edit: Their food selection is amazing, too. It's just an expensive place, with organic/local/ethical/gourmet/slowfood/etc. options only.

Yeah I was just thinking today about still being able to find BCBBW. If you would have told me a year ago it would be in SC and also wind up being a shelf turd I would have laughed in your face. Guess I was wrong.

You're welcome. You used to be able to look it up on their site, but now they have "Limited inventory - contact the store" on a lot of seasonals and limited releases.

I question the palate of any beer and food lover that doesn't find Edmunds impressive. It may be pricey, but that is downtown dining. As for finding things like Bourbon Co Barleywine, Laura Alberts is well known to have hard to get beers still on the shelf. Not a lot of people hit that place for rare beer.

Total Wine still had BCBW this past mid week. I'm not a fan of BW, so I left it for someone who might appreciate it.
