    Greetings from California!!
I'll be flying into KC on Thursday and staying in Columbia until Sunday.
Are there any breweries, bottle shops, brewpubs, or restaurants I need to seek out?
I may be able to drive up to St. Louis and check out Side Project, but that remains to be seen. Do they send out any of their bottles that far south?

    Thanks in advance folks, cheers!

If you are in Columbia, hit up Logboat Brewing. They have a nice taproom and outdoor area. No food but you can bring your own in. They occasionally have food trucks as well. Their whole lineup is good, but Mamoot is my favorite. It's brought home silver and bronze from the GABF the last 2 years.

Flat Branch and and Broadway Brewery are a couple of brewpubs in the downtown area. The beer is good but not exceptional at both places. Both places have good food as well. Broadway does the localvore thing and is more of a foodie kind of place. Try the Double Rye IPA if you go. Flat Branch is the original beer place in Columbia having opened about 20 years ago. They are locally known for their Green Chili Beer(though I think it is kinda average). My favorite is probably the Oil Change Stout.

Also, 44 Stone and 44 Canteen have great beer and great food. Canteen is downtown and brand new while Stone is on the south side of town.

For bottle shops, Craft Beer Cellar, any of the Hyvee grocery stores, and Lucky's Market are good. CBC is downtown and Lucky' Market is on the edge of downtown. CBC is also probably slightly more expensive than the other places. The 3 Hyvee grocery stores are spread out, 1 east, 1 west and 1 south. The west location on West Broadway probably lags behind the other 2 for selection.

Side Project doesn't distribute so the only place to get it is at the Side Project Cellar in St Louis. It is a really nice set up though kinda pricey depending on what you get.

Thanks a ton for all of that!
I think my friends have some places planned out, but I'll see what else I can convince them of.
Looking forward to checking out the local scene!
    Cheers!

Also International Taphouse (iTAP), located on S 9th St on campus at the edge of downtown. 60 craft taps. Again, no food, but you can bring your own.

Ninth Street Public House (20-25ish taps) is across the street from 44 Canteen. No food; can bring your own.

Gunter Hans (14ish taps) has Euro food and is at Broadway and Hitt St downtown.

Uprise Bakery (14 taps), and good food, is across the street from Gunter Hans.

Bur Oak Brewing taproom is open Friday and Saturday. It is actually just outside the city limits adjacent to I-70. No food.

1839 Taphouse is a ways south of campus, 24 taps, good pizza and sandwiches, bar food.

McGinty's, east of campus, 24 taps, bring your own food.

By the way, the aforementioned Craft Beer Cellar is also a beer bar, with 16 taps.

And don't forget Columbia's original all-craft destination - Sycamore at 8th & Broadway downtown. Good food; open for lunch and dinner.
