Coming to Florida...

    Yea, kinda sucks for me that it is the 21st,I don't get out of work until 6 that night and I am in Daytona.I was going to drive over on Saturday and spend the night.OH well I'll save some $$

    St. Pete rotation:
    Peg's (for beer and food), Rapp Brewing, 7th Sun, Cajun Cafe for dinner, Willard's Tap House
    There's an Occupy St. Somewhere on the 22nd, too, but those are strange events.
    Tampa:
    CCB, Leuken's Liquors for bottles.
    Orlando:
    Redlight Redlight for a beer, Knightly Spirits for bottles
    South Florida:
    Tequesta, Funky Buddha, Due South. Our beer bars are mediocre by comparison, but we do tastings at Vine & Barley in Palm City, House of Brews in Jensen, and Coffee District in Delray.
    Miami I really only know because of Wakefield events (that would be a treat if there was one) at Abraxas Lounge and LoKal Burgers.
    The Keys suck for beer. Bad.
    Swamp Head is right off I-75 in Gainesville, but I've never actually been there.

    Come down to South Beach....the craft beer scene is somewhat "meh", BUT, the women are the shizzz. Oh, and take care of your outdoor desires by sleeping at the beach, alongside a Cuban mamacita you just met at Mango's. Heck, maybe you can even go back to MI with a lil bambino....

    Lots of good suggestions here Collin, thanks man. It sounds like the Tampa area has quite a few options. We were thinking about booking something via VRBO.com, but I'm feeling like just walking up to a hotel with a kitchenette unit with a stack of cash will be just fine, if we find a place we like. I'm definitely hitting Pegs on the 22nd, and I don't really care for St. Somewhere's beers ALL that much. Had a few and felt kinda MEH about them. How ever, that Swamp Head Saison that you sent me was one of the best I've had in a long time. Instead of sending you a box, how about I just BRING it to you! Booya.
    I will be importing a small, blonde, Scandinavian girl, so I unfortunately I won't be hunting this trip.

    Here's the second part of this thread: Does anyone in this area care for any Dark Horse BA Plead the Fifth? I'm not looking to trade...I will be attending the 4 Elf event before I head south, and will be picking up plenty for myself. If anyone wants any, I'd be happy to bring it down for you at cost and maybe a bottle of something local. BM me if there is any interest.

    If you're going to make it to South Florida, I would certainly love some. If you're going to stay around Tampa, then I don't think I'll be able to make it up to you.

    I went to the last one and had a blast. You get a glass and 3 pours (but more realistically unlimited) of St. Somewhere beer for $10 and people usually bring one or two good bottles to share. Some of the highlights last time were a few Lost Abbey beers, Jester King, Pelican, as well as some older Cigar City stuff.

    Well shit, I might have to check that out, if I recover from Pegs. I'd be willing to bring a Bolt Cutter, Baller Stout, some BA Plead the 5th (obviously) and possibly a BA Batch 9000.

    Good time, sure, but strange.
    There's just a lot of people there and they're all of varying levels of beer geekdom. You get some people who bring Jai Alai and other people who bring Apple Brandy Hunahpu. I say strange because it's not like other bottle shares I've been to. I was glad I knew someone there, otherwise I might not have gotten pours of the beers I wanted to try.

    BTW, Greg, I think I met you there and at Paul's beerfest the next day. This is Collin, if you remember.

    That is true...but I think that is part of the fun. If I remember correctly, some of the better stuff didn't come out until later in the evening anyways.

    I have returned from your great state! Had an amazingly great time, and just wanted to thank everyone that I met. Very kind people down your way, and I will be back. Now here's a pic of my haul from the trip!
