They are correct about the whole law thing, it's a federal law covers the no booze when it comes to USPS, fedex and UPS ban it unless you have a license to cover their a$$ in case they give a box of beer to a 19 yr old who then gets caught with it. But the bottom line is officially no shipper will allow you to send beer.

Well... this is all assuming that you'd walk into USPS and go "Hi, I'd like to ship this beer to my friend in ____ state", which is ridiculous. When they ask if there's anything "fragile, liquid, or perishable" I just say "It's glass art, can you put fragile stickers on it" or simply say "no". Not really a big deal.

Anyway - the last TWO packages I've received of Nelson Showers from USPS have been gouged open, with at least ONE bottle having the bottom blown out, glass everywhere, and a soggy (but delicious smelling) box.
It's only been from my SoCal friends, and only with Nelson Showers specifically. So either it's a CA USPS issue, or Noble's bottling sucks... I'm leaning towards USPS.

Fedex is about the same price-wise, but that's for GROUND shipping, which means 4-5 days if you ship across the country. If you're just sending bombers (and not in CA or sending Noble stuff) then USPS flat rate is the way to go. Same price, but 2-3 day shipping.

    Just my .02

USPS uses a lot more automation/machines for sorting than the other carriers, especially with flat rate stuff. Something to keep in mind.

It probably doesn't matter much with larger boxes (they'll fall off a conveyor belt in a USPS plant sure, but they could be physically thrown into a bin by someone at a FedEx/UPS plant), but if you try to squeeze a bottle or two into a Priority envelope, that thing is going to be flying through some small, tight spaces with some sudden changes of direction at the plant.

Ok, so my gf dropped of a 12 bottle shipper a the local shipping spot. She didn't say what was in it and they sent it via USPS media mail. oops. The pkg was supposed to be delivered on the 10th, we have both been keeping an eye on tracking and the last notation on tracking was 'departed USPS sort facility'

I have never shipped USPS before and know there are laws forbidding it. I wonder how much trouble I can get into if the package has in fact been confiscated?
