The Farmhouse in Burlington vt regularly charges $7-8 for 10 or 12oz pours and higher for “rare” pours. Pretty much the same for all beer centric spots in downtown Burlington.
I haven’t been yet but heard fiddleheads renovated taproom is very reasonable with $5-6$ full pints

My pet peeve is that so many bars and restaurants will hand you a beer list with no pricing on it. It's like playing Russian Roulette - you don't know until the bill arrives whether your pint costs $5.50 or $8.50. That would be unthinkable with food.

Even more unthinkable with a wine list, right? "Oh that bottle cost $150?, would've been nice to know that before hand".

Also hate when pour sizes aren't noted.

Is this common? I go out a fair amount to many different places and can't recall one time not seeing pour sizes, ABV, AND price listed.

I run into one or the other quite a bit. The places that don't disclose price are usually more of a restaurant.

Yeah I just don't understand how they'd arrive at those price points.

I travel to a loooooooooooooooot of breweries, and I can't think of more than a couple that charge over $7 for the majority of their offerings. The only one that really even jumps to mind is Hudson Valley, which, fine, because those beers are A) Unique B) Fantastic C) Assuredly expensive to make given the ingredients they use.

Are you talking about upstate NY?

Because I would say many of the places in Boston charge over $7 for their full size drafts.

I'm talking about anywhere. $6-7 tends to be the baseline at breweries. A big DIPA/stout/barleywine whatever can be $7.50-8, sure, but my point was I've literally never been to a brewery (and I've been to plenty in Boston, NYC, Philly, etc.) where the CHEAPEST option is $7.50.

    A $7.50 amber ale? At 4.2%? A $7.50 session IPA? A $8 strawberry blonde? Preposterous.

I was just at Lamplighter, I think many of their drafts were $8+. I had a half pour (8 oz.) of their dry Irish Stout (5.1%) and dry hopped pale lager (6.6%) for $4.50 each, which adds up to a $9 16 oz. draft pour. Their may have been a discount for the larger pour at $8.50 or $8.75.

I would say that's not uncommon for the Someville/Cambridge/Boston area. I'm sure Trillum's prices are up there as well, but I don't recall what their prices are.

I went to Aeronaut in Somerville the week prior, paid $20 for a custom flight of four 5 oz. pours. Prices were $3-4 each, and the only one that was $3 was a dry Irish stout. For a full pour reference their Citra Session IPA is $7 for a full pour.

Went to Remnant in Somerville right before that. Their IPA (7.2%) was $8, and both their session Porter and session IPA were $7 each.

A couple weeks before that I went to Mystic in Chelsea. I got six 4 oz. tasters. Each one was $3.

Checked another receipt for kicks from Nightshift's summer beer garden on the Esplanade in Boston. $8 for a draft of their 4.5% pale ale Whirlpool.

Some places in Boston that aren't super expensive:
    Stoddards(many pints for $6.50)
Democracy Brewing(across the street from Stoddards)
    The Kinsale
    Turtle Swamp Brewing
    Brendan Behan
    Galway House

Correction on this one, $10 for the 12 oz. pour.

    It's a steal!

I remembered thinking Democracy was kind of expensive. Then again, the beer is very mediocre, so it might have been a value call for the quality rather than absolute price level.

On another Democracy note: Cool space, terrible bartenders. Takes forever to get a pour.

    $12 with the tip though!

Wow, $1/oz for an ESB. Coniston has long been a favorite, but I definitely remember getting pint bottles of those quite a few years back for what I remember being a reasonable price in stores.

    That’s the difference between Allston/Brookline and Somerville/Cambridge.

Trillium drafts might be $9 for a 12 oz. of an IPA in Davis Square and the same price for 16 oz. at Publick House.

Not even an ESB. Those are typically stronger. This sits at 4.2%.

Yep, that's why I'm rarely at many of these Somerville/Cambridge spots.
At Deep Ellum a lot though and beers like the Coniston keep me coming back.

For those needing more of a NERAX fix, they have Old Golden Hen from the UK right now

I'd head over to Allston more if it was closer. I live a mile from Davis, so it's convenient. I also like Somerville/Cambridge way better than Allston for multiple reasons.

I'll get my NERAX fix this weekend.
