Hover over your name to bring up the drop down for your profile info. Click on Personal Details. Once you are there you will have a bunch of space to work with in the About You section. Most people list their trades there. Some save them on a spreadsheet on Google documents and use a link to that. Check out other peoples profiles for ideas on how you want to make yours look.
Sidebar here...has there been a thread/site where you can view trades people have made? It's sort of what the Haul thread is at times but I'd love to read a thread daily of what people are trading for what.
I've thought about this being a good idea before, but never started it. Please go ahead and post it. I will add my recent trades to it.
I know it seems like a good idea, and would certainly be helpful to noobs, but it would ultimately do more harm than good. For example, let's say there are 20 trades for "rare beer X" listed in the database. Well, the next guy who comes along and wants to trade "rare beer X" is going to look at the list, and ignore all but the most valuable trade or two when deciding what he wants to look for. It just puts more ammo into the trading arms race that is already a problem these days. Also, most of the time my trades are meant to be kept between myself and my trading partner, and don't even make sense in the scope of the larger trading community. Perhaps he gave me a sweet deal and didn't want to publicize it. Or I owed somebody for hooking me up in the past and I traded them some desirable rarity for locals. That certainly doesn't mean you're going to land a crazy rarity for your own locals just because it has happened with other people.
Or on the other hand, a reasonable person sees that only one "rare beer X" landed something crazy and decides to ask for something closer to what the average person is getting for it. The argument goes both ways.
I was expecting to be ripped apart for even suggesting that could be a great thread...as a new trader and someone who just loves killing time on the forum, I'd just like to see - maybe even just to see what kind of great extra's people get, I loved the 'best extra' threads and stuff. I figured the thread didn't exist because one person may hold on to something because he knows it got X bottle(s) in a trade and won't let it go for less, even if it may not be 'fair'
Yeah, as noted, you're giving people too much credit. We already frequently see people posting follow-up ISO's for crazy deals that likely didn't even get done. If they get confirmation, it will only get worse...
Again though, how do they know those crazy deals didn't get done? They see them and just assume the trader got whatever outrageous thing he was asking for. The crazy deals that don't get done are more of a problem than being able to see what actually got traded.
