Life would be awfully boring if every beer list recycled the same brews over and over again.

Yeah that list is pretty random. The most intriguing one I'd never heard of was the Ramstein beer. I've had 31 off the list.

Just 24 for me. Definitely leaning east coast and Europe.

Have had quite a few of them, have several in the cellar. But I guess I'm surprised how few Belgians are on the list, only one Trappist (Orval) and the only one that is a perennial top on BA list was Pliny the Elder...

Looks like many so-called beer advocates are having a hard time viewing this list for what it is -- i.e. suggestions of (more or less) readily available beers to try -- and instead want to see it in terms of rankings. When are we going to learn that beer is not a competition...?

To be fair, some are a bit random and hardly readily available, i.e. Mimosa.

But I definitely agree, and this list has made me aware of a couple foreign brews that I always see sitting on the shelf at my local store, but I always overlook.

Also, my main point in the post was that COMPLEX had it. One of the most prominent HIP-HOP magazines. Took my by surprise when I saw it on their homepage.

If you're seeing ads you're doing it wrong. Try adblock for chrome.

Interesting. But I stopped when 90 min popped up.

Agree with others -- virtually nothing from the Midwest or West Coast. But still interesting. I've had 32.

Nice to see Cuvée Des Jonquilles get a shout-out. I really like that beer.

I have had 32 on the list and I am so happy to see that it wasn't full of american wish list toppers seen all over this site. I love giving the whole world a chance and seeing what is beyond our native soil. Some of my favorite non American brews are le Baladin Xyuayu, J.W. Lees Harvest, Weihenstephaner Korbinian, Chapeau Faro, Brew Dog Paradox, The Entire Butt, and Leipziger Gose. There are a lot I saw on the list that I haven't had but want to try and have seen multiple times on the shelf at my favorite local places.

All legitimate criticisms and shortcomings aside, this is without a doubt the best list of beers I have ever seen in a non-beer magazine (and better than some I have seen IN beer magazines). Kudos to Complex.

Grabbed an Oude Lambiek De Cam awhile back to trade but never got around to it. Maybe I'll just drink the sumbitch or something crazy like that.

    Very interesting list.

As others have already said, many folks here need to appreciate the list for what it is -- one person's opinion of beers that people should try (not love, adore, drink on a daily basis, etc.) -- and realize what it is not (for instance, it's not another lame excuse to bash DFH for no reason whatsoever).

Most of these beers are not too hard to find in the NYC area.
