I am gathering up my ingredients online in preparation for multiple brew days after I FINALLY get home from Afghanistan next month (356 days down!) and I'm looking for some Conan yeast or something very similar. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find some online? THANK YOU!

Thanks for the response. How close is this to Conan yeast? I'm really looking for something that finishes similar to Heady Topper.

I think it IS Conan the key in my experience with it is fermenting warmer than usually. The esters add to the fruitiness.

I used this Barbarian yeast for three batches. Somewhat underwhelmed by the yeast character. Fermented at 65 and it ferments fine but pretty clean with really no fruitiness to my palate. If going for New England style I'd go for A20 Citrus or A38 Juice which I haven't personally used by other brewers have stated they liked.

How was your attenuation for these batches?

    Cheers!

Around 70-74 percent. I just don't think their is anything special about the yeast but also I don't think it's flawed in anyway. Just kinda meh. For styles I heard conan is so great for I can use s04 or US-05 for most beers and not notice a difference for Conan but that is just me YMMV.

Have you tried Conan yeast from other vendors (i.e., somebody other than Imperial Yeast)?

    Cheers!

No I have not. Maybe I will have to do that one day.

A20 is good but can be a little over powering, depending on your hops. I normally ferment barbarian at 64, then move it up to 67-68 for a few days before cold crashing. It's definitely a clean yeast at the low range. However, I still get plenty of fruitiness, but i suppose that could be more of a product of the hop/hop rating.

what do you normally ferment at with conan?

I brewed a mix ferment sour with imperial citrus and lacto. It would be good for the NEIPA style (without the lacto)
