I have a bag that has come in handy a few times. I had a batch of a RIS that I was transferring to secondary with whiskey soaked oak, but wanted a few bottles of the base beer to see how it came out before altering it further, and using those was just a bit easier than getting everything out just a few bottles. They also came in handy when I was bottling a batch, and must have had a minute or two between putting my priming solution into the bottling bucket and racking the beer on top, so after getting all of the beer into bottles and going to clean the bucket, I noticed that the priming solution had partially set and was still in the bottom of the bottling bucket. I wouldn't ever use them for a full batch unless I had to, but a 4 or 5 dollar investment for an emergency situation isn't too big a deal.

I find them quite handy because I keg and almost always end up with a few extra bottles of beer. They are way too expensive for a full batch though.

when you figure 4-5 ounces of corn sugar and 1/5 of a package of cbc-1 yeast for a 5 gallon batch... it is significantly cheaper to batch prime this way, over and above having more control of carb levels. it would cost me almost $12 a batch to prime with the capsules. dats a lot:
