    The ZD clone recipe says:
    1.070 OG
    1.012 FG

    With a ABV of 6%

Whether I do the formula on my calculator (OG-FG)x 131 or use a website calculator, this comes out around 7.86% Very confused here.

The ABV of 6% is wrong if those are the correct OG and FG

With those gravities, the ABV should come out around 7.6%

That OG seems high. I brewed something similar in September - OG was 1.062 and FG was 1.012. Should have been about 6.6%

Now I wish I would have remembered to check the OG myself before I sealed up the fermenter. No biggie though, Myself and my beer pals can guesstimate about how much ABV there is once we start drinking the finished product. Not like I'm putting it out on the market or anything.

If it was an extract batch, it's pretty hard to miss your OG...unless you are volume measurement impaired  cheers, rdwahahb
