I live about 2 miles from there, and I am pretty sure I will not go there now. I posted on the pic telling them that. Curious if they will delete it. They "lost" it. Very convenient. I'll stick with Holiday, who doesnt take advantage of their position.

Someone should tip off founders... Last time this happened founders cut off a store from special releases

Founders or any other brewery has little to say where their beers go after they sell it to the distributor, just an fyi.

    Just to play devil's advocate...

What if this bottle was a 2012 KBS? I've seen shops around here cellar big (and big name) beers and then release them much later at a decent mark-up ($4 for a single 4 year old Expedition Stout comes to mind). Granted, $20 is a *substantial* mark-up, but still, for the sake of argument, what would you pay for a single aged bottle of a world-class, highly sought after, limited release/availability beer?

typically this is true but Founders has more than once managed to influence the distributors somehow...

Curious to know if this store typically gets good limited releases? I assume not given the way they treated this situation...hope they enjoyed the quick buck, but this will likely prove to be a bad strategy.

I don't live near Clawson, but this would be enough to make me pass on going to this store. Unbelievable.

Breweries can black list an in state shop for sure, especially if its a limited brews, they can suggest that their allocations can go else where to the distributor. Shop won't like it though, but "mistakes" can happen all the time on the reps end *wink wink*

I took a screen shot and forwarded it to Founders. They have asked customers to report unethical business practices as it relates to their Beer in the past.

Not true..I know for a fact Founders made sure a store by me did not get any KBS this year because of gouging...

It is a big deal..As this asshat hopefully wont get none next year and it will go to a store that does not rip off customers..
