The Sparrow in Bradford has been open for 12 months, in that time it has been mentioned, favourably, in the National press and become the local CAMRA Pub of the Season. Not a bad achievement I'm sure you'll all agree.

It's amazing how these things happen. When the Marquis of Granby changed hands about 10 years ago the new landlord was totally inexperienced, even to the point of asking the delivery guys what to do with the beer.
Within 18 months it was the runner up in the CAMRA National Pub of the Year and had sold 1500 different cask ales. Before the changeover the pub was selling two firkins a week, the year later it was selling a firkin of mild A DAY never mid the other seven other ales. This in a small two pub village of around 300.
