I have a 7.5 conical fermenter with 1/2 inch ball valve, does that seem kind of small to anyone? I'm having trouble getting the trub and yeast to dump after primary. Any suggestions.

My 1" valve clogs with trub/yeast if I let it sit for more than a few days. I would recommend taking a bit out every two or three days to keep it from clogging. At this point, you might try sanitizing a skewer, a soda straw, or anything else that will fit, then simply poking a hole through the sludge just to get the flow started. Once it starts, it should open up in a few seconds. Make sure you have something under the valve to catch it.
