    Hey all,

I received a Batch 1 Consecration in a BIF this weekend. I'm not a big sour guy and have never had a cellared Russian River, so I'm curious to determine exactly what I have on my hands (in terms of taste). Not sure what I want to do with the bottle (take to tasting, swap with friend, etc), but I'm curious to hear what others thought of any vintage consecration they've cracked recently.

What is your favorite style? Will send you that in trade?

I had a batch 3 (I think) about a year ago and it was fantastic.
Lots of dark fruit and leathery funk.
Would also trade for this

Batch 1 is delicious. Had one last month for my birthday. Prefer it over the 'fresh' stuff as it's more balanced. You can really pick up the dark fruits and more subtle flavors more.

Batch 1 is hit or miss. 2 and 3 is drinking very well. I only have a couple bottles left of each 1-3 but the last few batch 1's I opened were very mild in sour and tartness compared to 2 and 3. You can definitely taste the aging but still enjoyable. Best enjoyed with a vertical so you can appreciate the change.

It's tasting fine, but it wasn't the best batch, fresh (that was 3 or 6, to my tastes), and it hasn't gotten better with age, just different, and slightly less complex. I'd bring it to a tasting and ask someone else to bring a fresh batch, but YMMV
