Consecration is aged in cabernet sauvignon barrels, but from which winery? Does RR use barrels from the same winery all the time, or do they use barrels from different wineries with each batch?
I think that RR gets their barrels from a few of the larger wineries that they have gotten barrels from before and have established relationships with. I'm pretty sure they get barrels from La Crema and Rodney Strong and at least a few other wineries whose names are escaping me at the current moment, maybe up to around six or so wineries for the Chard, Pinot, and Cab. As for the Consecration I'm not sure but I'd guess Rodney Strong is providing some of the Cab barrels? I'm sure if you emailed Vinnie he'd give you the lowdown.
