Consolation LIF (ISO: an NBO)

    I was feeling fired up about celticfutblclub's Jeopardy BIF/LIF, but I had to bail. And my bottle got rejected (understandably) from the unwanted whales BIF. I've been searching for a BIF to join for a few weeks, but nothing's coming together. To console myself, I'm giving away some beer.

    Rules
    1) You must live in the lower 47 states (sorry MN BAs, the Northwest Angle and my living here exclude you).
    2) You must start your own LIF (preferably trivia-themed) within 30 days of receiving the box.
    3) One guess per person. If I post a hint, you can guess again.

    Winner will receive a box of midwestern goodies (some OTS, some limited), customized based on their location and/or wants list.

    So now, the questions.
    1) In what city was my avatar photo taken?
    2) What is my favorite work of art located in that city?
    3) My BA handle comes from an animal name. What is the full name (first and last) of the man that described that species of animal?
    4) For what beer did I do my first BA trade?

    I'll provide hints as needed.

    Time for a hint!

    3 and 4 have both been guessed correctly (one person even got both).

    Not surprisingly, no one has guessed 1 or 2 yet. In fact, no one's hit the right country yet. But several guesses were in the right part of the world.
