    Not exactly.

These things are just easy to spot when you post the same tired content over and over and over again.

    (see: Dirty Horse "joke").

Personally, I don't mind the repetition of information as long as it's useful or even just remotely funny.

I am sure you are not deliberately under rating beers right? I have quite a deviation sometimes and it could go either way. I admit that I look up when I am done rating to see that number. Every once in a while my rating is exactly the numerical average and I think that means I am having some kind of lucky day. Take it all in stride, that's what I say because those beers will be rated by a lot more people; meaning that as the days pass all that changes.

    Have fun and don't worry.

Entertaining, creative and outrageous reviews usually get you kudos here. Sometimes you may even bullseye the consensus. But if you're just writing down random numbers and words what's the point?

Oddly, most of my best teachers and profs through the years graded really strictly. One even said, "You cannot make an A in this class unless you know as much as I know". That fellow was a US lawyer AND an English barrister- I LEARNED the US political system from him. But beer, you know, is not serious business. Grumpy folks grade tough and happy folks tend to be easier to please. Grumpy folks get happier the more they taste, up to a point. It's all very subjective.

I'm a bit suspicious of rating "to style". If you don't like the style, how can you know whether a beer in that style is really any good? Just because it has all the attributes the BJCP says the style should have doesn't necessarily make it a good beer. If I rated (actually I'm a bit suspicious of rating at all), I wouldn't rate styles I don't like.

I'm like one of my old college professors that I used to hate b/c they NEVER gave an A. I find myself never being able to call a beer perfect, or rate a 5. I probably will at some point when I'm blown away and maybe haven't had a beer in a couple days, but I think with brewing and other arts, artists should always strive to improve on what others may say is perfect. Perfect is just TOO good for me to accept! Step it up! I don't think about that each time I rate but I'm kinda talking out loud here, so excuse me. Thanks for reading

Of course I usually rate most of the beers I buy a 4 or over because I'm great at picking the good ones. :sunglasses: What helps is having this site as a reference point. Obviously the OP is just not making smart buying decisions

Ahh! I should've been smart and checked his reviews before making that comment. Most of his Hads/Reviews are excellent buys!
