So, this may be in the wrong forum, but I am contemplating buying a kegerator (leaning toward Brewmeisters from the reviews here), and was wondering what prices of certain kegs are. I assume most of the better things I want to buy are going to be in the 1/6th barrel size, is this correct?

So, really my question is, what are the prices on these kegs? I know prices will vary by market, but just trying to get an idea.

    Founders Breakfast Stout
    Southern Tier 2XIPA
    DFH 90 IPA

If you have something else on hand know and want to let me know that, please feel free to share. Just trying to get an idea on if it is worth it. I like mostly IPA's and Stouts. What is the life expectancy of a keg of either of these? I would imagine the stout will last longer than an IPA.

I look forward to any thoughts you guys (and girls) can throw out there.

If I were you, I would start calling around to your local beer places that sell kegs and get prices that way. I've gotten logs anywhere from $60-125 (helps when you have a keg to return so you don't get charged the deposit). Half barrels can be around $200-$250, again depending. Having your favorite beer on tap at home, is priceless.

Did you post this before? Could have sworn I replied. I have DFH 60 on right now, it is a $95 log. You can figure logs will cost you about the same as buying the same volume of beer in bottles. There is no cost savings with logs. Quarters maybe a little, but the real savings are in halfs. I've spent anywhere from $70 to $125 for a log.

nope, havent posted, but there probably are some similar threads out there I wasnt finding with a quick search. I am relatively new here though, so I may not have been searching the best way. Thank you guys for the reply. I completely agree, nothing like draft beer @ home!
