Best thing I ever did with Habanero Sculpin was bring my last two bottles up to a simmer and plopped some ghost pepper brats from a local butcher in for 30 minutes before the brats hit the grill.

Those were some spicy brats, but damn were they tasty.

I have yet to try Watermelon Dorado... it surely can't be "worse" than Habanero Sculpin or Indra Kunindra (both of which I've enjoyed but would NOT want to drink every day)

I have great memories of walking between those elephants at the entrance. It was 1971 and I was a college kid free as the wind. It was early June and all I had to do was meet a friend on the Fourth of July beneath the Eiffel Tower at 2:00 PM. So two of us set out for Scandinavia. Carlsberg was a wonderful visit, with tons of food, endless beer, and a crowd of young folks from around the world.Their hospitality was truly remarkable. It was a great time and I made friends then that I still communicate with. Beer is a fine social lubricant. I'm glad that they have been a good resource for your inquiries and research. Cheers.

    Goddammit.

How was your ass the next day?

Come on Ron, you weren’t being that responsible. It’s not even a true session beer.

Indra Kunindra was a very interesting beer but one that I could not see myself ever getting again. And finishing the bomber of that myself was quite the effort.

The brewer would then be required to maintain a tolerance of +/- .2%.

In my time working at a few regional breweries, you’ll usually have a few tanks that test a little bit off target, maybe a hair or two under/over .3%. So we are supposed to dump the batch? Dilute it? There’s no authorities routinely coming in to check that stuff. QC will take gravity readings and have daily taste panels. and if it tastes like that beer is supposed to taste, it looks how it’s supposed to look, and it’s 0.5% over, you’re damn right we are gonna package it. If they take the reading and it’s closer to 1% over or under? Yeah then there’s an issue. You bring it up to mgmt and they will very likely decide to package it anyway. Being a few points off on ABV is a fantasy crime. Obviously it’s a different story if packaging is severely misleading.

Neipas, beetus stouts, and smoothie sours aren't ruining beer and it's incredibly easy to obtain more delicious non-ipa beer than anytime during the modern craft era

    But muh glitter berr. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would be curious to try a finer shandy. But hot days usually call for mixed drinks or seltzer here.

Haha to be fair, I can't hate on folks for wanting to drink with a bit of flair. I just wish the breweries would provide salt shakers of glitter and let me apply my own

I mean it might be kind of cool in the right context. Pride beers, or something meant to be magical. But uh, shiny swirls in generic IPA is not worthy IMO.

Shakers of glitter... would be pretty amusing though. I can see that getting messy.

Me too. Though I'm a bit more partial to the marinated and/or pickled versions compared to raw.

If I drink a 4 pack of 16 oz. beers that 0.5% can be considerable in my opinion.

If you have one four pack that has beers with an ABV of 4.5%, that's ~82 grams of alcohol.

If you have another four pack that has beers with an ABV of 5%, that's ~91 grams of alcohol.

That's an 11% increase in alcohol consumed in that session.

All I can picture is a kid in a tap room getting a hold of one of these and creating quite the mess.

Not only are kids a great addition to a taproom, they should be given a more prominent role in the brew house!
