If I have a nice dark-wrapper cigar while sipping a BBA or RIS, am I a Philistine? I'll accept the possibility that I am, I'm just hoping.....

Yeah, I always wash down my Copppertone shots w/ 12 oz of Head & Shoulders, helps negate that nasty coconut taste!

In the "What are you drinking now" forum we often see the use of improper glassware. I always focus first on the glass of beer & I am often fooled thinking the beer in the glass is the same as the glassware label

For example, it's soooo disappointing to see a Miller Lite beer in a Treehouse glass or a Surly beer in a Coors shaker pint.

It would be nice if posters could follow the Belgium way & use proper glassware for the beer being displayed. I know it's petty, but aren't most of the posts on the "Controversial Beer Opinion" forum petty?

I imagine you could send your yeast strains out to an external lab for analysis.

Yes. White Labs or Escarpment Labs will do it.

There is no comparing a fine cigar with a cheap cigarette! But having smoked nice cigars, I know they still wreck your taste buds for the an hour or more. I personally would never smoke anything while enjoying a craft beer especially a complex and expensive BBA stout. But if you can still find a way to enjoy both, at the same time, then I say go for it!

Would it make you feel better if I said the Weber Smokey Mountain was the most underrated smoker? Of course I haven't tasted all of the top-rated saisons. That doesn't mean I think tank 7 Garners all the hype it receives. I would go so far as to say that it is typical of everything else on our shelves right now in that it's simply popular because it's an over hop version of a traditional beer.

You're right, of course; any smoking of any kind affects the tastebuds. But I had to admit to my hand-in-hand vice just for some fun.

OTOH there is little I have found in life to match the pleasure of a T 52 and well aged barley wine enjoyed together.

Beer reviews should be written after drinking a six pack and include notes on intoxication.
