Virtually every other style I've been exposed to. Not a big fan of AAL but would drink that shite over any Belgian

I like Juicy IPAs but think they are overrated.

How do you feel about Brett beers or fruitier English styles? German weissbiers?

    Lambic, Ipa, stout, porter, pilsner..

I think actually I cannot drink "belgian yeast beers" and i'm not a huge fan of barleywine.
I could make an exception with Westvleteren 12, I feel the yeast flavor more subtil

Some yeast strains are definitely more polarizing than others, like the strains used by Unibroue and Chimay.

Baloney. Go try a Tripel Karmeleit, Duvel, or maybe a Cantillon Kriek. Not to mention hundreds of others.

Yeah that's different for sure. I'm speaking more to the people that wait in line for hours. Here in Maryland, people will literally start the line the night before the release at Burley Oak.

Possibly you've also got a bit of a thing against very sweet beers? How are you with drier saisons? Or *heavenly trumpets, Jesus floats in on a cloud* Orval?

I've never had an authentic Brett or a "fruity" English beer but I do enjoy almost all German styles.

Have had several Duvels and do not like at all. Have not tried the others. I steer clear of anything remotely "Belgian"

I also recall the band not enjoying playing "Creep".* But it's popular, so they have to keep it in the line-up...kind of like New England style IPAs and dark roasts at coffee shops...

*I think Nirvana had a similar feeling towards "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

I have had many styles but never had a peanut beer. I reckon I never had a maple brew either.Had a sour once, it tasted like really old fruit yogurt.

It's probably not possible to keep track of the backgrounds of everyone on the board, but nevertheless, this is a pretty funny post.

You probably don't like Esters in your beer. I am the same way. But I'll drink some 3F or Cantillon.

He used to hate it with a passion, actually, and has refused to play it live for years.

Interestingly enough, they don't actually keep it in their line up. They didn't play it for years and when they finally busted it out last year it was a big deal.

I don't know where that lands it in terms of beer analogies exactly

ETA: ack, just noticed that Snowcrash already posted pretty much the same info. I'll leave this for the sake of the link I guess.

Although I really appreciate the people on BA, especially those in the WBAYDN threads, I do not like when a newbie comes and asks a question then is made fun of. We have to remember that we all started from somewhere.

Unibroue's yeast doesn't seem too out of the ordinary to me, but their annoying habit of making everything a coriander bomb on the other hand...

I always thought Narwhal was one of the smoothest fresh imperial stouts.

Now for a controversial opinion: Ten Fidy sucks. It's got this in-your-face licorice-like taste that somehow synergizes with the alcohol to end up tasting like it's laced with cheap vodka.

Nah. I used to love the Belgian styles, but now I can't stand esters. So I'll drink just about anything, my dislikes are Trippel / Dubbel, Rauchbier, and some barleywines.

I like wild ales, sours, IPAs, APAs, Stouts (big and small), pastry beers, cream ales, Pilsners, Lambic, Gueze, etc etc.
