Looking to make my first all grain batch within the next couple weeks. Want to do it right. Wondering if anyone has a nice cheat sheet with all necessary calculations(I like em quick and easy...the cheat sheets that is) or other good starting points that would help. That CA brew dogs episode showed the dudes doing all sorts of calculations before hand. I can do medical math haven`t ventured into beer math yet. Sort of half assed my extract batch preparations with decent results.

    Thanks in advance!

There are lots of calculators out there that can help you through various parts of the process. I think the ones at Brewers Friend are free: http://www.brewersfriend.com/stats/. There are many others, just start googling what you wish to calculate.

I've been recommending this a lot lately, but here is my brief explanation of water adjustments. I personally find that most of the time it is very easy to come up with reasonable water adjustments for my beer.

BrewCipher by VikeMan is what I use for putting recipes together. It's really a one-stop shop since it incorporates basic recipe functionality (such as BrewToad) with lots of math and chemistry that goes way over my head. But he also provides frequent explanation, especially on the Water Chemistry tab, as to what results various additions will yield. I do believe my beer has improved since I started using that over BrewToad (the free app/website that I started with).

When I switched to AG, I was lazy about water chemistry. Not a huge mistake for me because my water is fairly soft, but my beer has gotten better since I started paying attention to it. BrewCipher makes it easy, Bru'nWater gives some of the chemistry and the two combined have helped me understand it much better.

If you can do medical math (I can't), you can use it.

Just checked it out. Looks like it kicks ass can't wait to get Rollin. I have a few extract batch recipes written down that I want to convert! I would love to share beer and the recipes when it finally gets done.......
