    Of course beer is all about the taste, marketing be damned. Still, if a beer has a really cool name, that certainly doesn't fail to leave an impression. I will readily admit to buying beer just because it has a cool name that resonates with me. After all, what do I have to lose? I especially love music and movie references in beer names, but also social commentary. How about you? What are some of your favorites beer names?

    Dark Horse Smells Like A Safety Meeting

    An explanation I read said that they came up with that because safety staff are thought of as stoners.

    Only time I've heard that association is a backcountry skin track reference. So folks stop, dank up, and truly examine the snow stability and profile that they intend to ski/ ride. Haven't heard a safety connection outside that setting...though maybe I live a sheltered life.

    I always thought 668 The Neighbor of the Beast was a very clever name and an excellent beer.

    Never had the beer, but always liked the name and the can art for this one -- I haven't actually seen this one in person (I assume I'm outside the distribution area?) so I only know it exists thanks to it popping up in What Beer Are You Drinking Now/New Beer Sunday threads here from time to time.

    Clever names can be taken too far. An extreme example would be when Dieu du Ciel! wasted perfectly good ingredients brewing the incredibly nasty tasting Peach Mortel for the sole purpose of making fun of anglophones who couldn't or wouldn't learn how to say péché.
