Just a heads up to anyone passing through Portland - the new batch of Allagash Coolship Cerise (bottled October 17th, 2012) is phenomenal. Massive upgrade over the past batches, IMO (and does not appear to be reflected in the reviews yet, so I thought I'd post. Not sure if it's still on the shelf, but was a week ago. I picked up a few bottles for some regular trading partners, but was convinced to drink one when one of the tasting room staff mentioned to me that a new cherry blend was used. Not nearly as pretty as the prior batches (the Cantillon Kriek brilliant red color is gone and more of a blush pink), but tastes dramatically better. Much more depth of flavor (also notably more sour and less sweet).

Highly recommended- interested to hear what others think of it in comparison to the past batches.

It's gone? Damn. Well, if anyone bought it and hasn't had it - it's awesome  The tasting room folks told me Resurgam was next, but I don't know if that means right now next or just the next one that's going to be released whenever.

Is there any way to tell which one it is from the bottle or label? I bought some this year that had 2012 mentioned on it, I believe.

Yes. There's a bottling date on the label. I don't have my bottles now, but the batch I'm talking about is bottled on October 17, 2012. The previous batch was bottled in January 2012, i believe, but someone else can confirm that.

The batch I bought in May is the January 2012 version.
