Any of my fellow Oklahomans or anyone else who has had F-5 recently tell a difference in the beer? Before they made the newest batches, it was so juicy and delicious. Now it's a little too malty, and the hops aren't as pronounced. Is it just me or is this not as good as it used to be?

I feel your pain man...I used to drink F5 like water but recently it just doesn't do it for me. I attributed it to my own changing palate but I was curious if anyone else was having a similar experience.

I had someone from OK bring me some down last month. Wasnt too impressesd to be honest. Regretted requesting two 4packs... Would be happy to try it again if something was indeed off with the current batch.

It wasnt bad by any means. I think I was just expecting more. Maybe Im just getting spoiled by all of the awesome local and out of state brews making it here to Texas lately.

Grab some Roughtail IPA. It is pretty good too.

I found a similar thing with this year's Austin Beerworks HM Half IPA. The good 'ol Beerworks boys chimed in and said it had to do with a variation in the hop harvest, as can occur any year. This might be a similar thing. I think Citra hops got 'less juicy' this year.

Freshness dates??? The new cans have them I thought. I had a pint in Tulsa & it tasted great. Sort confirmed some theories about certain bars line cleanliness..

I doubt complacency is the case. Im sure they are just adjusting to the new system. It is a huge step up from what they were working on before. That said, I haven't had any of these cans that taste that off myself. I know they are out there though.

I agree. My post sounded really negative, and I'm a huge COOP fan, so obviously gonna stick with them through the transition. Sure would like to see them expand their lineup a bit too.

Went to Whiskeycake last night for a birthday dinner and grabbed an F5. It was brilliant. So fresh and sharp. And their beer list isn't bad for a chain/gimmick place.

I had an F-5 on draft at McNellies last weekend and it was a bit cloudy, which I hadn't noticed before. The beer was delicious as usual though.
