Hey all, I’m in Copenhagen for one day (Sunday, tomorrow) — I was planning on hitting Mikkeller Bar, but I’m looking to try Blaeber. Either for onsite consumption or to go (would be willing to trade too). Anyone know of the best place to guaranteed have this? And at the best price?

Also I’ve read there is a vintage year or two that aren’t great ... which years should I avoid?

Thanks sorry for the bunch of questions!

A friend was in CPH a couple weeks ago and had it at Himmeriget -- I think they picked up sponsorship of it after the demise of Ølbutikken so that may be the only place to get it.

Blåbær is "owned" by Jeppe (Evil Twin). He used to run Ølbutikken. Himmeriget is his pub and is the only place where you can get it.

Last weekend they only had a couple of vintages left, both 375s and 750, This coming Thursday will be the release day of 2018-bottles to go and they will have Blåbær 2016 on tap.

I will be there in a couple weeks. I'm sure to-go bottles are all gone, but will it still be available on-site?

Yes, it will almost certainly be there to drink on-site. Right now you can get both '15 and '17 vintage.

Any suggestions for must hit places? Best craft beer and food combo?

    I think it's about 200dkk for a 375.

Barr is probably the best for beer and food. Brus is also good. If the weather is good I would recommend Reffen which is a new street food area right next to Mikkeller Baghaven (sour beers). For some reason our bars don't have food.

I appreciate all the info its very helpful.

Do bars there do flights at all? Would love to try as much beer as possible.

Some bars do flights but they are not that common here. Instead you can often get a 20cl pour.

I think the problem is the prices. To anyone but Norwegians they are very high. A flight will of course cost more than one big pour and with the beer being expensive in the first place it's just too much for most people. Go to the Taphouse website for a general idea of prices.

Sharing is the way to go if you want to try a lot of beer.

Remember that you can drink in public here (anywhere / anytime). You don't need a bar to drink if the weather is good. Kihoskh, Mikkeller bottleshop and Mikkeller General Store have refrigerated beer.
