I can't find any descriptions of their beer..and even any reference in here. How do their beers taste like? What are the good ones, or even interesting ones?
I went there earlier in the summer. The beers they had on tap were just standard styles - pale ales/ipa/wheat/pilsner, mostly good but nothing that would blow you away and not what you might expect if you are familar with mikkeller. it's as much about the whole experience of drinking and eating there as it is the beer itself. Not tried anything in bottles so maybe someone else can reccomend if they are worth hunting down.
Thanks. Mikkeller and FFF... not expecting anything amazing How was the meal? They seemed pretty nice so I guess I will be having my lunch there.
If you're in Copenhagen now then I would definitely reccomend a visit. The food is fairly limited but excellent meat and sauces, if you do eat meat.
I was there in April, 20 taps of various styles which change on a regular basis, was ok. Mrs. K and I preferred BrewPub Copenhagen and Taphouse.
Quite pricey food but well worth trying anyway. They do occasionally have fun stuff on tap and the War Pigs brews are always solid albeit not something exceptional.
I've been to WarPigs several times, each time had a worse experience than the previous. The beers are good, and a nice selection of different styles, but really overpriced, especially considering they are brewed on-premise and have no middle man. They don't let you choose a pour size either as they do in other Mikkeller establishments. The staff serving the beers are really friendly and welcoming, however I can't say the same for the food serving staff. First time, when they first opened, was great - however subsequent times they have been unfriendly and even downright rude. While the place was almost empty. Quality of the meats and sides have been inconsistent; some things great, others poor (and always expensive). Overall I'd say it's an OK experience - worth checking out if you're going to Mikkeller Bar or Fermentoren anyway since it is so close. Side note: if you also like coffee, check out Prolog which is in the same complex at WarPigs, it is phenomenal.
Thanks for the recommendation for the coffee shop I'm not a big fan of Mikkeller, I know Denmark's price is pretty expensive.. but is Warpig even more expensive considering the high price of Denmark? Damn...
It's expensive for what you get, IMO...I think you can get better dining value at other restaurants in Copenhagen (Chef's choice menu at Manfred's comes to mind, and you're two blocks from Mikkeller & Friends..!).
My trick to making Copenhagen prices seem more reasonable: Go spend a day or two in Malmö and after that Copenhagen seems like a bargain
