Per their Facebook, that's their final day. It took a minute for me to realize that they count as "old school" at this point. They opened all the way back in 2011. Mexican Chocolate Stout was a revelation for many years. Lots of other places ran with the same idea afterward, but I don't know if any of them were any better. At least not for many years. I don't stop in as much as I used to, but I've always liked their tasting room and the folks working there. It's another bummer closure. There aren't many places left that opened in that wave around 2011-12.

This one hurts. Their Mexican Chocolate, the Snowed In series, and my fave, Well Bred, are wonderful brews. Since I'm officially retired, I'll have to pop in a few more times, even though it's a trek from Arvada.

Sad news. One of my favorite things to do at beer fests was mix Denver Beer Co's Graham Cracker Stout with Copper Kettles Mexican Chocolate Stout that was delicious. Snow Day was a great series, I'll probably stock up on a few with this news.

...and I just saw a post from last week that Colorado+ is closing, too. End of May. Double damn.

We had a slight reprieve from closures (Wilding might've inadvertently prevented a few, too) but it seems like we aren't out of the woods yet. We've just got to keep supporting our favorite local spots and hope they can keep going.
