    Looking for some insight here...
I assume it is better to cellar bottles with corks on their side in order to keep the cork wet, just as you do with wine. Is this correct? A dry cork could let air in, right?
    Cheers!

Most brewers don't use shitty corks, plain and simple. Nothing to worry about.

Another thing to consider laying a beer on its side is that you have more air-to-beer contact, which will speed up oxidation. Very few of my beers get laid down, mostly Lambics, Sours, Biere de Gardes or Champagne style Bier-Brut.

I for one do not like the taste of cork in my beer, if you lay a beer down for an extended period your beer will taste like cork.

Thanks everyone! That is very helpful and a good read. Interesting the different point of view from wine cellaring.
The bottles I laid down this morning will return to their full upright positions tonight.

This is my favorite argument on BA, and I, for one, am going to settle it once and for all and store my beer upside down. Except for sours. I'll store them on a diagonal slant facing the ocean.

I hear some belgian lambic producers exclusively age their beers on their sides. So I don't know if the cork affects the flavor as much as some let on.

Then you should try it for yourself.

I turn my corked bottles to face Mecca 5 times each day
