Reading another thread ($1,500 vs $150,000 system) regarding carb issues on the “homebrew” beer Tonsemire did... Made me wonder if anyone has modified a Cornelius keg into a “brite” tank of sorts? This is what I had in mind: Carb keg lid https://www.morebeer.com/products/carbonating-keg-lid.html + Spunding valve on gas post https://www.morebeer.com/products/spunding-valve-gauge-ball-lock.html Transfer cold beer into purged keg. Start carb at wetting pressure + hydrostatic pressure (usually 1-2 psi on small scale) Have spunding valve set to desired setting (ie. 38F beer to 2.5 vol CO2 would be set to relieve pressure at 11 psi) Increase pressure 1 psi every 15 minutes until spunding valve starts to vent Roll beer with CO2, spunding valve venting for a few minutes. Might try this for my kegged sour/wild ales.
I would be very careful with this. When you get beer jumping around inside, it can get into the spunding valve.
I have that lid. I haven't used it in years. I simply set my PSI to 40 for 24 hours, back down to PSI for vols of desired CO2, leave alone for a couple days.
