Use the Finger Lakes beer trail map. Think Market Street Brewing in Corning and Birdland Brewing in Elmira; then Horseheads brewing in Horseheads. Then drive1/2 hour North to Watkins Glen and Roosterfish brewing or take Rt 13 1/2 hour drive back to Ithaca

You could head about a half hour north of Corning and do Finger Lakes Beer Company, Keuka Brewing, and Abandon Brewing.

As far as bottle shops go Wegman's in Corning has a good selection, but probably the same stuff you could find in Buffalo. I recommend a small bottle shop in Horsheads called Lewis Bros. Market.

One brewery not mentioned yet is Upsate Brewing in Elmira.

The best, best brewery in the immediate area in my opinion is Abandon Brewing in Penn Yan which is located on north side of Keuka Lake about 1 hour 15 minutes north of Corning. If you could only hit one place on this trip, this is the place. Brewer was formerly with Ommegang and brewery and setting is wonderful - overlooking Keuka, horse farm and Keuka College. Brewery is in an old restored barn. I like that part of it as opposed to a lot of breweries that build a pre-fab building on top of a concrete slab.

Abandon is getting a ton of great praise on BA. I'm psyched to make the trip from Ithaca soon.
