If you are going to Liberty Station you may want to check out Slater's 50/50 has they have a nice tap selection.

Rent a car. Wont cost you much more than train and you can go to 20 places.

Coronado's beers are very underwhelming for me.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Public transport hadn't even crossed my mind, but that might be a good option one night to try to hit Toronado or Hamilton's.

    A couple more questions:

    1. Is it at all realistic to expect to find any Alpine in bottles or on draught around downtown? If so, where are my best bets?

    2. How easy is it to get a cab from downtown? Can I count on being able to just hail one, or should I call ahead? I'll be trying to get one from either Krisp or Neighborhood Sunday evening.

Alpine is often on draught at Toronado. Don't expect to find bottles anywhere although Bine and Vine has them from time to time.

Lots of cabs downtown but grab the tel# of a cab co. before you leave the hotel just in case. Presumably the bartender at Neighborhood should be able to call you one if necessary. Also, Krisp is near the US Grant hotel and I have often seen cabs waiting near the valet stand.

There is also a water taxi that can take you over to Coronado.
