I guess you’re right. I thought there was one but apparently that was last year’s thread.

Totally forgot there wasn't a 2019 Corridor thread yet (this is what happens when all the threads get locked/started up again).

Coconut and Cinnamon are both pretty amazing; coconut is unsurprisingly more subtle (but still there), cinnamon is in-your-face. Both are full bodied and sweet, exactly my type of stout. I was almost hoping they wouldn't be good, but I guess we're back to the point where I haven't run into a style of beer Corridor makes that I didn't love.

Nice day off and lunch at Corridor. Got to try smiling shadows and all 3 variants. Coconut & Cacao was really good but the cinnamon and vanilla was def tops. Coffee was subtle but then again I like my coffee stouts bold, robust, and roasty. Double Galaxyeah is awesome. Grabbed my 4 pack of CJB and set for the weekend!

I stopped in last night and tried the Coconut and Double Galaxyeah. Coconut was good, fantastic body, but super sweet. I want to go back to try the base to see if its less sweet, if so, I'm sure I'll love it.

That DG though, wow. Its up there with my Corridor favorites. I could smell the peachy nose while it was being poured from 6 ft away. It is fantastic.

i gotta tell you, i wasnt a fan of double galaxyeah. it wasnt bad by any means, the aroma was killer, but i got this nutty aftertaste to it. put me off a bit.

cosmic galaxy was as good as ever.

the chicken fried pork sandwich was great, but i feel like their menu has taken a few steps back. its all sandwiches and pizzas now. no more mussels or other standard dinner fare they used to throw up. still one of my favorite places in the city.

Galaxyeah is fire. Big Galaxy fan overall so the menu rn is speaking my language. Brought the parents for brunch. Food killer. That’s all.

I’m with you on the Juicebox being better than DDH Galaxyeah. I tried it again after having it 8 days ago but time didn’t alter it much. I hadn’t noticed the mussels were gone which is unfortunate. No their burger is one of the best brewery burgers I’ve ever had and the pizzas have taken a big leap forward in the last year or two. I had the breakfast sausage pizza today which was a nice wrinkle on a standard

Had the Double Galaxyeah yesterday and I got a bit of a green/grass clippings/herbal notes in the aftertaste. Wasn't the biggest fan of it as a result.

Smilling Shadows cinnamon and vanilla variant was just way too much cinnamon in the both nose and the taste. Completely unbalanced. Spicey. Thinner mouthfeel. Was not for me.

But the Coconut variant was pretty nice. It was mostly chocolate in the aroma, with both chocolate and coconut coming through in the flavor. Sweet and rich. I thought the mouthfeel was better than the cinnamon variant also.

I've heard this from multiple sources, which made me want to go in and order one. I've now ordered it twice (the second time to give it another shot), and I won't be ordering it again unfortunately. Both times the burger was unbelievably greasy - I'm aware fried beef is greasy, but this was like wringing the bun out greasy, which is not my jam.

Everything else I've ordered from there has been killer, but no more burgers for me from Corridor

The issue with the (great imo) burger is that they use cheddar. I love cheddar and hate American cheese, but the latter is much better for burgers. I've asked if they've got American, and they don't. Cheddar gets too greasy when melted, which is its only flaw. For example, one of Goose Island's best moves (the brewpub/"house") was adding a burger with American to their weird burger menu.

I really liked Galaxyeah, but had to give my glass to my wife when she realized she preferred it to the milkshake IPA they had on tap. GY has just the right balance of green to me, but I know that's an off-putting flavor for some. I probably should've grabbed a growler for the weekend.

Agreed on this part, but this can't be the only reason the two burgers I've ordered were that greasy. The Workingman Burger at Rev also has cheddar, and I think it's great, and have never had issues with it.

Not that I'm a burger connoisseur, or a food critic, but it's just not my jam when the burger is literally dripping when I pick it up. Still have yet to have a beer I didn't enjoy, and everything else I've ordered from the menu has been stellar

Oh yeah, I'm not saying the burger itself in ungreasy, I just don't think it would matter nearly as much if they used a cheese like American. The combo is just too much.

(although I'm fine with greasy burgers and clearly still happily Corridor's)
