I got the bitter, not the astringent note. But I've also preferred many of the style ripe when others like to sit on them for a week. So I may have an odd palate.

I have to say that when I went into Corridor the other day to try squeeze it for the first time I had got there a little early and was going to have to have a another beer before they started pouring at 5. I had figured I'm getting a Pining the West because I wasn't sure I wanted another hazy beer before trying Squeezit for the first time. Unfortunately they did not have Pining the West on tap anymore so I ordered a Bendy straw and hoped there wouldn't be any Haze on Haze conflict with my palate. Right around 5 when they unleashed the beast I ordered a pint of Squeezit.

I really enjoyed the Bendy, it was very smooth and had a nice light mouthfeel and I thought the mosaic hops came through really well in the flavor. The Squeezit took it to another level, I thought it had a little thicker mouthfeel while still being pretty smooth and the Citra and mosaic hops complimented each other so well on the taste. There was a little more bitterness but can't say I minded that at all.

Didn't pick up any astringence though, got a little more of that the night before when I stopped at Ram in Schaumburg for a Citra whip, most of it in the carbonation because it just had that burn going down, but I think that'll work itself out over time with the whip.

I can only see Squeezit getting better over the next 4 to 10 days and I was glad to grab some crowlers to go. Corridor has just been killing at lately as far as I'm concerned and I seem to find myself in there every week these days.

Or maybe the chef had been tossing back Squeezits all day long? #jobperks

Yeah, I've only had it twice but I feel the same way. They even commit the cardinal sin of putting cheddar on the burger (I hate how oily cheddar gets when it melts; American cheese is a plastic abomination but it's easily my favorite burger cheese) and I still love it.

I went to corridor with a few co-workers last night after a company outting to keep the party going. It was their first time but I have eaten and dranken at Corridor many times. We were seated in the back and I was facing the kitchen. We ordered some wings and the cauliflower/cheese curds since I've had them both before and they're pretty good. I noticed the kitchen put up our order and it just sat at the pass for almost 10 minutes under the heat lamps before a server brought them over.

They were descent, just didn't have any of the fresh crispy crunch on the curds as they also absorbed all of the sauce and the wings were hardly warm. Since my coworkers were hammered and the company picked up the tab there was no mention of any of this and hardly a notice by them. The kitchen/servers were not in sync at all last night.

You're a crazy man. Cheddar is the best burger cheese

Nah, neither of them hold a candle to swiss (with mushrooms) on a burger

I love cheddar, but there's a reason Au Cheval (and places like that) don't put it on their burger. Doesn't melt the way I like!!!
You lost me at mushrooms. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, I'm going to stop here, because this is like the 12th burger debate I've had in the Great Lakes forum...

It's because they're more focused on doing a take on the "classic American burger" then they are about taste! It's all part of a trend about reinventing comfort food and they end up caring too much about tradition! I HAVE MANY OPINIONS ON THIS SUBJECT!

Totally cereal, I think maybe it's time for burger debate to have its own dedicated thread.

Seriously, I do not discriminate on my burger cheese. For me the cheese selection is dictated by toppings. Not to get fancy, but smoked gouda (contingent on toppings) on a burger is pretty fantastic option.

When Corridor stops making NEIPAs to concentrate on offering 5 different burgers because it has become the topic de riguer, I am blaming all of you.

It'll be just a smashed, ugly slab of meat, but taste incredible. They'll call it a MWburger and hamburger purists will lose their minds.

I get what you're saying. I just prefer the way American melts over to any other cheese. I also love cheese sauce on burgers, for what it's worth.

Yeah, a burger thread could definitely be cool. And I also like most cheeses on a burger; just because I have a preference doesn't mean I discriminate!

Sorry guys, the best cheese on a burger is no cheese. I'm guessing that is probably more inflammatory than my less than stellar view of Squeezit.

I did have the wings yesterday, and was pretty disappointed by them as well. They were way too dry, and mine weren't sitting under the heat lamp for long - they came out piping hot, but they had been cooked too long and weren't saucy enough. I can deal with not enough sauce, but combine that with being cooked too long and it's not a good combo.

All the other stuff I've had has been on point, though. I have yet to have the burger, but I have multiple friends that have raved about it.

While I disagree, I will say that I have the DMK burger when I go to DMK, and didn't even notice it didn't have cheese until last time (and I don't miss it). I grew up eating non-cheeseburgers, so I can't entirely hate.

Breweries are like strip clubs, if you are basing your experience solely on the food, you are doing it wrong.

Anybody have a feel on how Squeezit has held up so far (in terms of amount still available to-go)? I didn't make it over yet and won't be back around until Sunday, so I'm hoping it's still there by then.
